NEW
YORK
2004
UPDATE -
OCTOBER
2003
The Event Committee is pleased to announce that Columbia University's
on-campus housing has been confirmed for our June, 2004 Cohen Event!
The prices, as promised are favorable! Columbia University has
committed to single dorm rooms at Carman Hall @ $56.00 per night/single
occupancy, $82.00/ double occupancy. Furnald Hall will supply dorm
rooms at $53.00/per person. These rates include tax, although there may
be a slight utility surcharge if the utility companies significantly
raise their rates. The committee has been told that this is
unlikely.

This on-campus housing will only be offered to persons who have
registered for the June 2004, Cohen Event in NYC! So if you're
procrastinating, now's the time to register ! Columbia will have rooms
available before, during and after the Event for those of you who wish
to spend some extra time in NYC! Additionally, we are anticipating
that there will be food service programs at reasonable rates both at
the International House (during the Event) and at Columbia during the
weekdays before and after the Event. Information will follow shortly!
For those of you, who have already registered for the Event, you will
be provided with registration instructions in November (Although Columbia has confirmed our housing space
for the Event, it is not yet ready to accept the individual
reservations. We expect, however, that reservations will be accepted
shortly. An update will be posted as soon as we've got the details!). Your early registration has guaranteed your ability to priority
registration!
Please also note that there will be housing available at other
facilities for those who prefer more deluxe accomodations! We are in
the process of negotiating rates with several other venues as mentioned
in our earlier announcements. We'll keep you posted when rates become available -- but they won't be close to Columbia prices!
All systems still go at The Bottom Line!
Many of you have read about the recent lease troubles at the Bottom Line Cabaret. The NY Event Committee has been in close touch with the management of the Bottome Line. Fortunately, things appear to be looking up for the Bottom Line! The back rent has been paid, and a new lease is being negotiated! Performers and radio stations are rallying in support of the venue. For more information go to www.bottomlinecabaret.com
Accordingly, the Event Committee is moving full speed ahead with plans for the New York 2004 Cohen Event! We remain convinced
that this Event will be as memorable and special as past Events, if not more so!

And I thank you for those items that you sent me
The monkey and the plywood violin
I practiced every night, now I'm ready
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin
***
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand, touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
